Cash4Clubs to Open for UK Applications on 1 October 2026

Cash4Clubs, a grant programme funded by Flutter UK & Ireland, opens for applications on 1 October 2026 and closes on 1 January 2027. Not-for-profit organisations across the UK and Ireland, including charities, community groups and traditional sports clubs, can apply for a grant of £2,000 (€2,000 in Ireland), aimed specifically at supporting adult participation in sport. Because of who's funding it, eligibility is tied to adult activity only: groups must be delivering sport to people aged 18 and over.

The programme is deliberately weighted toward the clubs likely to need it most. Priority will go to groups supporting adults in areas of high deprivation, and to those actively increasing access for under-represented groups, including women, people from racially diverse communities, people with disabilities and people from the LGBTQ+ community.

Cash4Clubs is also looking for activity that reaches adults who wouldn't normally engage in sport at all, whether that's addressing loneliness and rural isolation or supporting physical and mental wellbeing, and initiatives that speak to wider community issues such as tackling anti-social behaviour or strengthening community cohesion.

The funding comes with no guidelines or regulations for what it should be spent on. The money is unrestricted, meaning it can go toward whatever actually keeps a club's adult sport activities running or growing, provided it's spent within six months of receipt.

For plenty of clubs, the biggest barrier to growth can be the accumulation of small, unglamorous problems that never quite make it to the top of the priority list: new balls and bibs that should have been replaced last season, a coach qualification that's lapsed, a minibus that needs an MOT before it can safely ferry a team to an away fixture, or that leak in the clubhouse roof that's been bothering everyone for months but never quite made it into the budget. £2,000 won't transform a club, but it's often enough to finally deal with the problem nobody's had the spare cash to fix.
