Blackburn Fitness Studio Announces Partnership with Local Football Team

Blackburn-based fitness studio Active Wellness has announced a new partnership with Blackburn Community Sports Club, providing strength and conditioning support to the squad ahead of the new season.

Under the agreement, Active Wellness will run weekly training sessions for the women's football squad at its Blackburn studio, aimed at building strength and improving fitness alongside players' regular pitch-based training. The studio will also become the club's official Player of the Match sponsor, with an award presented after each home fixture and the partnership promoted across the club's social media channels.

Blackburn Community Sports Club was recently promoted to Tier 6 of the women's football pyramid and is competing in this season's FA Women's Cup. Scott Taylor, founder of Active Wellness, called the partnership a natural fit for a studio focused on helping people get stronger, fitter and healthier. He added that the team's ambitions for the season, combined with the chance to support women's and grassroots football locally, made the collaboration an easy decision.

Ben Willacy, coach at Blackburn Community Sports Club, said regular access to strength and conditioning work would help the squad meet the demands of competing at a higher level, and welcomed working with a local business that shares the club's focus on fitness and community development.

The arrangement reflects a broader pattern in grassroots sport, where partnerships between local clubs and businesses can work both ways: clubs gain access to specialist support they might not otherwise afford, while sponsors build visibility and goodwill within the community they serve.
